Paul Stombaugh's Work on the MacDonald Case

I will never forget Paul Stombaugh, the soft spoken man who never tired of talking about the MacDonald case.

I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Paul and visiting several times in his home in Greenville, South Carolina. In the basement he had a model of the MacDonald crime scene with markings of where each victim was found and the blood patterns of which victim and their type.

Many graphic photos were taken during the autopsies which have never been released, nor will I release the copies he provided me out of respect for the victims.

He had copies of every record pertaining to his work on the case and freely shared them with me as well as personal mail and his answers to the mail about the case.

It was a sad day when his son notified me Paul had passed away, I had lost a friend.
