There are many people I wish to thank for their help in my research and for providing me with information that has led to getting more things for the website.  As time moves along and the opportunity comes and the time is right I will be publicly mentioning these people.

I would like to thank Michael Ravnitzky for all his help and his own research he has so willingly shared with me.

Last year MacDonald's defense team members were busy little bees filing new motions.  But how many were new or could be considered newly discovered evidence?  The only new motions that have not been addressed prior were the startling revelation that Jim Britt had and the DNA results.

Since the defense has raised the issue that Judge Fox may not have jurisdiction to make a decision regarding the DNA, is it possible they might try to get Judge Fox to recuse himself just as they tried to get Judge Dupree?

Has MacDonald given up on his allegations that Helena Stoeckley and Greg Mitchell were involved?  The answer to that is no, they have just taken another route for the moment.

“The latest is an attempt to spin the AFIP DNA results into a claim that an unidentified hair found on Kristen’s bedspread probably came from an African-American, thereby proving, once again, the truth of MacDonald’s account of intruders.  The claim is specious for the following reasons:  The hair in question (AFDIL 58A(1) is a 5mm, naturally shed Caucasian hair recovered from Kristen’s green bedspread along with numerous fibers, a black dog hair, and MacDonald [sic] own hair.  The AFDIL DNA results show that this hair has seven polymorphisms, or unusual genetic sequences.  AFDIL ran the whole profile against the database and found no matches for anyone including Africans or African Americans.  Apparently MacDonald’s expert (Terry Melton) has told [Tim] Junkin [one of MacDonald's attorneys] that one or more of the polymorphisms was ‘most similar in [database] research to African/African American.’  This may well be the case for a particular polymorphism, but it is not true with respect to the full DNA profile.  Nor is it accepted scientifically to determine that a hair came from a particular population using a partial profile instead of the full profile.  Put simply, it would be like saying that the presence of a genetic sequence for brown eyes means that the donor was most likely an African-American.”

You can bet your bottom dollar that this will not hold up in court and the appropriate measures are being taken to counter this latest ploy.

If MacDonald is entertaining the idea that this latest stratagem will win him an apology from the Department of Justice, and a new trial, and his freedom, he is dreaming the impossible dream.

I receive many letters from people who have been involved with MacDonald.  Many say the same thing, that at some point MacDonald wrote to them asking that they destroy all mail they received from him.  Unfortunately for him they did not and many are willing now to join in to show people the kind of person he really is.

A question that can asked is how can a man convicted of three murders send out mail using a false name and inmate number to women?

Any answers?

It would appear that getting married has not stopped his letter writing.  Seems this one was written after he arrived at his current place of incarceration.

To the writers of the letters to Mac about his money raising efforts, please be aware that the resourceful MacDonald had no compunctions about auctioning the blood spattered posses- sions of his butchered family in his backyard years ago to try to get money for his defense and my mother foolishly gave things to him to sell as she was still enthralled by ol' blue eyes and his bullshit stories.

Let him and his wife give their possessions if they are so sure he is innocent...but they know full well it is a fool's project and they would be throwing good money after bad.

I rejoice that we hear so little of the liar these days...soon he will realize in that dismal cell of his that he is there for the long haul.

I was personally delighted that the parole board May 10 advised him that he could not apply for parole for another 15 years.

That time passage should be enough to complete the "picture of Dorian Grey" to the point that even the so publicly aware and opportunistic Mrs. MacDonald will have gone her sepa- rate way leaving him to write lonely heart letters to a new bunch of groupies.

I would urge all of you who read about Jeffrey MacDonald's new home to write to him there and tell him of the "high esteem" you hold him and other mass murderers in.

He remains a myth in his own mind, and with his sycophants and supporters around him he really does not understand that he is yesterday's cause and a despised man for all of it.

Tell him you hope his stay will will be long and "eventful" should you have the stomach for it.

I will track him for the rest of his natural life, and will never lose track of where he is and the incredible waste each and every day of his miserable life is.

Brother of slain Colette Stevenson and beautiful little Kimberley and Kristen.

I believe your website is much-needed, Christina, in order to set the story straight about Jeffrey MacDonald's guilt.  More than ten years ago I became intrigued with the case after reading Fatal Vision and seeing the movie.

Having never met Jeff, I sent him a friendly letter and got a very friendly reply.  We ex- changed exchanged more letters and photographs and within a few months were talking by phone regularly.  During one of these calls, he told me he was in love with me and wanted to be with me after his release from prison.  Over the next three years he wrote me several times a week, interminably long letters, and sent me large packets of magazine clippings and other material.  He called me several times a week and we often talked for hours at a stretch.  When I traveled out of state to visit my parents at their home, he would even call and write to me there.  I visited him in prison on a number of occasions, and also met some of his friends and supporters.  At one point he wrote me that he wanted us to get married after his release.

I gradually began to realize from things he said and wrote that he was having involvements with other women during this same time period, although I am not sure to this day whether those were as intense and long term as his with me.  He also sent me gifts (with the help of third parties on the outside)--large expensive flower arrangements, clothing, books and other items.  I later surmised that in order to pay for these extravagant gifts, he had to be using some of the money his supporters on the outside sent him in the form of cash donations.

I eventually became extremely disillusioned with him as I saw he was beyond a doubt guilty of the murders, and as I saw how many people he used and manipulated for his own ends, whether for money or sex or influence with his case.  He would use anyone--young women, elderly women (whom he encouraged to act as "motherly" figures towards him), men, even homosexual men he deliberately led on in his letters to them.  On several occasions he confided to me bizarre sexual fantasies, including homosexual ones about fellow prison inmates, and said he was having sexual contact with female prison staff members.  As I became more disillusioned and asked more questions, Jeff and I increasingly had conflicts and quarrels.

When I finally told Jeff I had met a man I intended to marry and that I was engaged and could no longer be involved with him, he flew into a jealous rage on the phone.  Even after that, he continued to send me cards and left me messages on my answering machine to try to persuade me to continue with him.  I had to write him a blunt letter in order to get him to stop contacting me.

I now deeply regret my romantic involvement with him as well as the sexual involvement, limited as it was to phone conversations and what we could get away with in the prison visiting room.  I feel sympathy for other women he seduced and used in the same way.

As I read some of Jeff's scanned letters on your site (of a romantic/sexual nature to women), I see that they are nearly word for word the same nonsense he wrote to me, including all the "supportive" words about how great that the letter recipient has got her life together, is so self aware, so happy, etc., etc.  All false, all to further his own ends.

Thank you, Christina, for your efforts to make the truth known about this psychotic individual who continues to manipulate people, including his present wife.  I don't think in Jeffrey's case a new hearing or trial would make any difference--he would only lose once again, and after- wards go right on with his insane declarations of innocence, doing his best to convince other people, including skilled lawyers, to spend their valuable time serving and defending a deeply disturbed, guilty man who has no conscience, but who displays only an endless malignant narcissism.

I hope other people he has used in the past will find the courage to speak out about their experiences on this site.  Thank you again for the great work you are doing.

I am afraid to tell you who I am, but I had a relationship with Jeff for many years.  He once ejaculated into an envelope and sent it to me.  I am deeply ashamed to admit this, and I shutter to think of it.  I know he is guilty.  I lost count of all the lies he told.  If you leave me some word, I will eventually send you his letters if you want them...but I am so ashamed. That is why I can't sign this.

The issue of the destroyed/lost prints:

At the trial in 1979 Medlin was asked the question, "To your knowledge, sir, how many prints that you attempted to take during the week of the 17th of February were lost..."

A “May I qualify your word 'lost,' sir?

". . .The word 'lost' connotes that the print is no longer there.  But this is a misuse of the word 'lost.'  The print was not lost, the print is still in exactly the same place that it was developed on the item.  The print--the photographer’s print--his paper print--was lost for our comparison purposes through camera error.

"So the word 'lost', I would encourage any a person who visualizes the print just disappearing, as understanding what I am referring to.  The print is still there."

Should MacDonald be tried for the murder of his unborn son?

I am simply amazed at the offers of help I have received and the suggestions that have been offered.  It does give food for thought and an area which I will may now start to work on. Strange as it may seem, a while back I did use the term referring to MacDonald as a mass murderer, and it was also a term that Freddie Kassab used often to describe MacDonald. When I used that term I was quickly corrected, but now it would seem that others are of the same opinion that he is indeed a mass murderer.

Below is one of the most interesting emails I have received.

Great website and your work should not go unrecognized.  There should be far more people willing to speak out as well as stand up for what they believe it.  Some have done it and because of those who did, many new laws have come to be passed.

I write to you to pass on some information you may be interested in and might just be a way for you to precede in your fight for justice for the victims.

Jeffrey MacDonald was convicted of triple murder; the fact is there was a fourth victim that lost their life due to the fact that its mother was murdered.

Jeffrey MacDonald then can be termed as a mass murderer. The definition, as provided by The American Heritage Dictionary, clearly states that a mass murderer is one who: "2.a. A person who kills several or numerous victims in a single incident."

mass murderer. The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary a definition of the word "several".

In my condensed version of the dictionary, I found the following definition: "consisting of an indefinite number but not yet very many."

So, in pursuit of a more definitive definition, I went to the online dictionaries and found this:

"Of an indefinite number more than 2 or 3 but not many"

Jeffrey MacDonald was convicted of the following murders:

1. The Murder of Colette MacDonald
2. The Murder of Kimberly MacDonald
3. The Murder of Kristin MacDonald

So, the question would seem, does this represent "more than 2 or 3."

The question then becomes is Jeffrey MacDonald responsible for the death of more than three human beings?

In this regards, many seem to have forgotten the fact that Colette MacDonald was pregnant at the time of her murder.  In fact, the unborn fetus would have been approximately five months old as statements serve to indicate that the birth was due at some time in June 1970.

Furthermore, from all indications and his own statements, Jeffrey MacDonald was fully aware that Colette MacDonald carried an unborn fetus within her womb.

When Colette MacDonald died, so did the unborn fetus!  The cause of death to the unborn fetus was due to Colette's life being ended and not by what can be termed as a natural death.

In assuming that the jury who convicted Jeffrey MacDonald was correct, and that he is entirely responsible for the death of Colette MacDonald, then, one must logically assume that he is also directly responsible for the death of the unborn fetus which she was carrying at the time.

And, even though he has neither been charged with nor convicted of the crime, then Jeffrey MacDonald would be also responsible for the death of this unborn fetus.

Recently, new laws have been placed into effect which clearly defines this as being a homicide.

It should be noted that this law specifically covers federal locations such as Military Bases, and it also resulted in additional comments added into the Military UCMJ which specifically address the death of an unborn fetus.

Although the NRLC has specifically addressed numerous instances and cases of where such a death occurred, it is noted that they have omitted the MacDonald case.
Perhaps this is merely an oversight on their part as the MacDonald case is certainly old news when compared to those instances which they have listed and should be brought to their attention. This certainly may be an area you wish to pursue since you are fighting for the rights of the dead victims.

Nevertheless, this often unmentioned victim of the MacDonald murders brings to a total of four deaths in that household at 544 Castle Drive, Ft. Bragg, NC, on the morning of February 17, 1970.

Since there is considered to be no statute of limitations on prosecution for murder, the question must now be asked: Can Jeffrey MacDonald now be tried for the murder of the unborn fetus which Colette MacDonald was carrying at the time of her murder?  Should not Jeffrey MacDonald be brought to justice for this death as well?

You can start by contacting the multiple organizations in your community as well as nation wide. You can lobby Congress and many other government officials.  Start taking advantage of the organizations out there that would jump at the chance to help you.

If you are interested in getting started in this, I would be happy to assist you and put you in contact with those who would be willing to help you.

For now, keep my identity confidential if you should post this to your website.  Think of me as your ace in the hole.

All the best to you, I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully working with you in the near future.

And so the infamous Gabrielle Renoir has resurfaced...

Thanks to Gabrielle Renoir for the personal memos she received from the defendant several years ago.  Guess that was another interesting relationship?

Bob Stevenson and my book

Bob Stevenson, Colette’s brother, has been a Godsend for me.  He has told me so much about the family and their lives.  We have spent much time talking about the sadness, the anger, and the heartaches that MacDonald caused his family.  Bob is like Freddie, he is a good man, he is strong, he is truthful and he is not afraid to speak out about the deaths of his beloved sister Colette, two nieces Kimberly and Kristen.  There is much sadness in his voice and he still cries for the tragic way they were murdered at the hands of Jeff MacDonald.  When Freddie was on his death bed and Bob was there with him, he promised Freddie that he would take over and continue the fight to keep MacDonald in prison for the rest of his life. He will keep that promise as long as he lives.

Though Bob and I have communicated about various things, I never wanted to impose on him or his family causing them to remember painful things in any way.  But when I finally got up my website and he went there to read and saw all the things I had, it was at this point he offered his help to me by writing an endorsement for the book as well as sharing with me some things that the readers might just find interesting, to help them to get a better insight of what Colette was really like.

I welcomed this opportunity and straight away asked the publisher to hold off for the additions.  The first thing I did was to send Bob a copy of the book so he could read and correct any mistakes that I had made regarding the family.  Bob has been a tremendous help with making the book much better overall.  He has shared so many personal things with me and I have had several very emotional times just reading and listening to them.  When he was finished reading the book he sent me an email and when I read it I was overwhelmed in what be had to say. Below is the email he sent to me.

Christina,
The well written and forceful convictions of your mind have been gratifying to me to read..........
While there were errors made during the initial investigation, you have placed the blame where it belongs and your words of condemnation so forcefully spoken that it will unmask him to others…. and I believe will get to even him.....I can imagine him squirming and yes.....hating......as you allow for others to know the truth....to find it themselves if they care to.

God bless you............Your loud shout should be heard in the darkness of ignorance and the sea of misinformation put out by Jeff MacDonald............and somehow, by Colette and her babies.

My wife believes that once...long ago....that my sister came to her in a spiritual visitation asking for help for her and the children........You are the help.

Thank you....

Sincerely,

Bob Stevenson

ABOUT MY WEBSITE

For a long time I thought of starting one, but never seemed to get around to it.  Then I met Bunny and with her help and her pushing me ever so gently, it finally became a reality.  With my records and her brains we finally got it together and with her continued help much more will come to both my site as well as hers.  So to Bunny, thank you, Lady, for all your help and we will continue to get the truth out there for people to read.

The MacDonald website for years has remained unchanged with little information there.  After I put up my website they changed theirs.  But still only their version of what the case is.  My goal was to provide the public with the true facts of the case by presenting complete documents and records of what occurred during the nine and a half years it took to bring MacDonald to justice for what he had done.  Some of these documents are transcripts of MacDonald’s own words.  Things he said that only kept digging the hole deeper for him. MacDonald had a choice, keep his mouth shut or tell the truth which of course he has never been able to do either one.

I find it truly amazing how he and his followers can say that Greg Mitchell, Helena Stoeckley and poor confused Kathy Perry Williams were involved in the murders of his family.  They base this on the fact that:

(1) Greg Mitchell had Type O blood.  MacDonald’s own daughter Kristen had Type O blood. Ap-proximately 45% of the Caucasian race has Type O blood and approximately 49% of African-Americans as well.  Just because Mitchell had Type O blood does not put him at the crime scene.

(2) Helena Stoeckley was never identified as the woman Mica saw on his way to answer the call for help from Jeff MacDonald on that fateful morning.  Just because someone was standing on a street corner dressed in a floppy hat and boots does mean it was her.

(3) To say that just because Kathy Perry Williams confessed does not mean she was there. This poor soul said the house was upstairs and the children were boys.

The defense team further contends that the report submitted by Colonel Warren V. Rock, the Army Article 32 hearing officer, exonerated him of any involvement in the murders, stating that the charges were not true.  According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, “exonerate” means to clear from accusation or blame.  While Colonel Rock’s report did state that his opinion was that the charges were not true, this was not his job.  His sole responsibility was to determine if a crime was committed; if so, could the suspect be involved, and to determine if there is sufficient evidence for a general court-martial.  The recommendation was out of his scope of duties.  Charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence.  Many people are arrested and at times there is not enough evidence to go to trial and so they are released, but the investigation goes on until enough evidence is found or another suspect is charged. If Colonel Rock had recommended a court-martial at that time, it is doubtful Jeff would have been convicted.  Many tests had not been done; the evidence was there, but it had not been processed to prove he was the murderer.

In one sense, it is fortunate Colonel Rock found as he did, otherwise MacDonald would possibly have been free today and there would be no recourse to retry him due to the double jeopardy law.  However, it is important to remember that there is one case in history where a man was found not guilty of a murder charge and was tried again fifteen years later for the same crime and convicted.  So there is a possibility that if he had been court-martialed and found not guilty, based on the one case of double jeopardy not holding up in court, that he may very well have been charged with the crime again, which could have led to a conviction.

I hear MacDonald subscribes to over 25 journals, newspapers, etc., to read.  How sad that his family doesn’t have the same opportunity to do the same.

The Long Beach Police Association hosted a $100 per plate dinner to raise money for Jeff's defense.  But what about the many who paid $500.00 a plate to sit at the very large guest of honor’s table?

The book Fatal Vision had nothing to do with him being convicted and was written after the fact.  Joe McGinniss did not label Jeff a murderer.  MacDonald did that himself when he committed the crime.  A jury of his peers found him guilty of three counts of murder. McGinniss changed his mind from the trial and from what he heard and observed that convinced him that MacDonald was guilty.  He certainly had a right to write as he saw fit.  It’s called freedom of speech.

Freddie Kassab believed one hundred percent in Jeff’s innocence in the beginning.  Jeff is the one who destroyed that belief.  Freddie was a fair and honest man.  I think one of the main reasons he went to the crime scene and put himself through that horror was to come to terms with what Jeff said and with what the crime scene actually revealed.  No one wants to believe that a member of your family could do what he had done.  Freddie went there with an open mind.  He wanted to understand in his own mind and trace the events as MacDonald had said they had happened.  He did not come to that conclusion is just a few minutes.  He spent hours there testing every possible way he could to try and understand, and further- more, he left and came back to experience it again in the dark.  It truly is sad that the parents and grandparents of the victims loved and cared about them more than the husband and father.  They were willing to fight to bring the person to trial for the crime while the husband and father only wanted to distance himself from the whole situation.

Freddie was no different from any one of us and I speak for myself: we are all entitled to change our minds.  If you listen to MacDonald over the years you will see how his story has changed.

The public did not change his statements.  He made those statements on national TV. Anyone can add or change things as to how they occurred, but the way he has changed things is ridiculous.  People are not idiots and they have minds.  They are capable of figuring out things for themselves, and just because MacDonald says that is the way it happened doesn’t make it so.

Years ago, Colette’s brother, Bob Stevenson, got permission from Freddie and Mildred to change the name from MacDonald to Stevenson on the grave markers of Colette, Kimberly and Kristen. MacDonald had a choice, this was his family, he could have had buried them in his family plot, but as always he was glad not to have to take the responsibility of this.  All the times Jeff had interviews about his case never once did he mention this or express his anger, sadness or unhappiness that this was done.  Now after all these years the new Ms. MacDonald is upset over the fact that the names were changed.  News was recently received that she has contacted the cemetery and wants the name changed back to MacDonald.  Seems too little too late in my opinion.  If the truth be known, Peter Kearns, the CID agent who handled the reinvestigation, has visited those graves more often than MacDonald or his new addition ever has.  Freddie and Mildred owned the cemetery plots and when they passed away, Bob inherited them.  So if the new Ms. Mac wants the old name plates back, better hire a good diving team.

Comments:

Christina -- finally someone has been upfront enough to post full documents about the MacDonald murders.  As an investigator who worked on the reinvestigation and someone who has literally lived with this murder case for almost 34 years please accept my thanks for the outstanding site you have produced.  It is like a breath of fresh air to actually see that you have taken the time to present the true facts that allow people to read whole documents and see the way the case was actually handled instead of the paste and tape show given on the pro-MacDonald sites.  It may well be that you will catch a lot of flack from the pro-Mac groupies for your site but as you know by now, when that group attacks you then you have hit the truth. Keep up the good fight.
