CHRISTINA'S CORNER
Bob Stevenson's message of thanks
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PATCHOGUE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1961 and all others who may have contributed to the annual scholarship awarded each year to honor my sister Colette and her children
I must admit than I am extremely gratified and very thankful for their long remembrance of my sister and their continued willingness to make contributions to the fund meant to honor her life and efforts of a young woman that they only knew for a short time in their lives.
Colette was a kind and gentle person who truly cared for others and would be happy that others are receiving help in her name and the name of her children who never had the opportunity to attend a school and make friends as she did.
It is almost beyond belief that you have continued to remember her death.
It is now almost 42 years after the dreadful act by her husband, Jeffrey MacDonald.
To know that she and her children are still in your hearts is comforting to me and my wife Vivian and we will never forget the class of 1961. Were I still living in the area I would like to attend the presentation of the award to recognize the caring of the class of 1961 and Patchogue High School for continuing to remember one of it's own.
To everyone who have given, we thank you for honoring my sister Colette, and her children, Kimmy and Krissy.
You are in our hearts and minds.
THANK YOU FOR CARING AND THANK YOU FOR REMEMBERING.
Sincerely,
Bob and Vivian Stevenson
